Shreveport, LA – Valerie Parker Fatally Hit By Police Car in Caddo Parish
Shreveport, LA (August 24, 2021) – Authorities in northwest Louisiana say that a police car hit and killed a pedestrian on Sunday evening, August 22.
Few details are available, but authorities with the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office identified the deceased woman on Monday as 48-year-old Valerie Parker. A news release reported that she was hit by a marked Shreveport police car around 10:45 p.m. Sunday. EMS units responded to the site of the accident and attempted life-saving measures on Parker, though she was pronounced dead before she could be transported to an area medical center. Authorities also reported that the officer was on duty, and investigators are looking into whether the officer was responding to a call. The coroner’s office said it will perform an autopsy on Parker. The investigation is ongoing at this time, and further details surrounding the incident have not been released.
