New Orleans, LA – Man Killed, One Injured in Two-Car Collision on Gentilly Blvd
New Orleans, LA (August 23, 2021) – Officers with the New Orleans Police Department were called to the scene of a fatal traffic accident that happened shortly before 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, near Gentilly Boulevard.
According to officers, one of the vehicles was traveling at a high speed when the driver struck another car. The impact of the collision caused the first driver to leave the roadway. Upon arrival, authorities found one of the vehicles, which was driven by a 20-year-old man, overturned. Paramedics performed life-saving measures on the driver in the overturned car, but the man was pronounced dead the scene
The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene until officers arrived and reportedly has only minor injuries.
This crash remains under investigation, and police say it’s unclear why the two vehicles collided at this time.
