Houma, LA – Scott Danos Dead, One Injured in Car Crash on LA 3040 at Enterprise Dr
Houma, LA (August 13, 2021) – A 63-year-old Cut Off native was killed on Tuesday morning, August 10, in a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the Houma area.
Shortly after 10:00 a.m., troopers with the Louisiana State Police Department were called to a crash on State Highway 3040, also known as MLK Boulevard, at its intersection with Enterprise Drive. Officers say that 63-year-old Scott Danos was traveling northbound in the right lane of Highway 3040 on a 2020 Harley Davidson Roadster. As Danos approached the intersection at Enterprise Drive, he collided with a westbound 2021 Chevy Equinox that was crossing 3040 on Enterprise. Despite wearing a DOT-approved helmet, Danos sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office.
The driver of the Chevy suffered minor injuries in the wreck and was transported by ambulance to an area medical center as a precaution. The driver of the Chevy also provided a breath sample to police at the scene but showed no signs of impairment. This crash remains under investigation, and police say it’s unclear why the two vehicles collided at this time. Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Scott Danos. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family. We hope for their full recovery.
