Calhoun, LA – Shane Rieger Killed in Motorcycle Crash on LA-151 near US-80
Calhoun, LA (May 28, 2021) – One person has lost their life following a motorcycle accident in Calhoun on Wednesday evening. Just before 5:30 p.m., on May 26, emergency crews were notified that an accident took place on Louisiana State Highway 151.
Reports from the Louisiana State Police show that a 2014 Kawasaki motorcycle, driven by 20-year-old Shane Rieger, was traveling north on Louisiana State Highway 151 when it became involved in a collision with a 2010 Ford Explorer near US Highway 80. The impact of the crash caused the motorcycle to roll over, ejecting Rieger.
Rieger sustained fatal injuries in the accident. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
