Denham Springs, LA – Bicyclist Joshua Dore Fatally Struck by Car on LA-16
Denham Springs, LA (September 12, 2021) – A crash occurred in Denham Springs at about 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 12th on LA-16 near Old River Road in Livingston Parish.
Police said the fatal victim was 35-year-old Joshua Dore, a resident of Breaux Bridge. The crash also resulted in the arrest of 59-year-old Terrell Turner, a resident of Walker.
Their investigation showed that the accident took place as Dore was driving south in the southbound lane of LA-16 on a Huffy bicycle. Turner was traveling behind Dore in a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. For reasons that have yet to be determined, the Chevrolet crashed into the back of the bicycle.
Dore sustained fatal injuries during the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. A routine toxicology sample was obtained from Dore and will be tendered for analysis.
Impairment is suspected on the part of Turner. Additionally, Turner initially fled the scene.
