Denham Springs, LA – Michael J Knighten Killed in Crash on Highway 16 near James St
Denham Springs, LA (June 7, 2021) – One man has lost his life as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Saturday morning. At around 8 a.m., on June 5, emergency crews were requested at the scene of an accident on Vincent Road.
Reports from authorities show that deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of a distance in the 8000 block of Vincent Road.
As crews arrived, one vehicle was traveling in the vicinity, causing a collision between the LPSO deputy and another vehicle in the area of Highway 16 and James Street.
The driver of the second vehicle, identified as 32-year-old Michael J Knighten, sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
The LPSO deputy was injured in the accident and transported to a local hospital for further care. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
